notes of interest from April issue of Signals

Dear Scouts and Scouters,

There are some things of potential interest to our troop in the April
issue of Signals magazine, which is now available for downloading at:

(1) a project to being a Friends of Camp Kiwanis working group to
help keep Camp Kiwanis in tip-top shape.

NOTE: This is a potential service project for our troop and/or our
scouts. If we are interested, then we should call the Camp Kiwanis
Ranger, Mr. Mike Ames, at 517-676-6101 for more information.

(2) Eager Beaver work day at Northwoods Scout Reservation - May 5-7, 2006

NOTE: My understanding of this event, it that it is primarily, if not
entirely, a service project for adult leaders, helping to keep
Northwoods Scout Reservation in tip-top shape. If you are interested,
I would suggest contacting our District Director, Bob Vergamini,
517-321-9400. ex. 110 or our Senior District Executive, Clarence
Smith, 517-321-9400, ex. 109 for more information.

(3) Webelos Woods - May 13, 2006

NOTE: This is a Cub Scout event. But Boy Scouts, especially more
experienced Boy Scouts, have an opportunity to serve Cub Scouts by
serving on the staff for this event. If you are interested, I would

(4) 22 Scouts earned the rank of Eagle Scout in our District in 2005.

NOTE: This is another potential service project for our Boy Scouts

NOTE: Advanced training for adult leaders.

(9) National Youth Leadership Training, June 25-30, 2006

NOTE: Advanced training for youth leaders.

(10) Introduction to Outdoor Skills, April 11, 18, 28-30

NOTE: Basic training for adult leaders for working with Scouts in the outdoors.
